In this post–5 November world, The Bulwark Podcast has become my favorite and my go-to for deep takes on what's-up. Originally hosted by Charlie Sykes (an old-school Republican whom I have come to adore!) it is now hosted by an equally erudite and hilarious person Tim Miller (Former Republican consultant, the opposite of my man James Carville) whom I ALSO adore. I was turned on to this podcast by my wife-to-be Deborah who is not only brilliant, but a proud slightly left-of -center Independent. OY! We make SUCH a great team!
I've been a big fan of the show ever since.
I've been following George Will via his state-of-the-art column work with The Washington Post, and as far back as his commentaries as a pundit with ABCs "This Week With David Brinkley" program. As a somewhat leavened and currently open-minded former screaming progressive on the far left REVOLUTIONARY...I have disagreed with many of his positions over the years, but I have ALWAYS been a fan of his intellect, vocabulary, and elocution. (See? Even when just writing ab out George, one becomes inspired to dig a bit deeper into pone's own vocabulary. Just sayin'...) PL:US, George is a baseball SCHOLAR, with my Cubbies as his favorite team. BAM! Instant friend! You may remember that Ken Burns even included him as one of his talking heads on his great documentary "Baseball."
But THESE days, George and Will BOTH feel like my personal political spirit animals! Go figure.
So, enjoy a recent podcast with them BOTH!
