And Now, Ken Burns. WE NEED THIS

Writer's picture: Steve WiestSteve Wiest

The title of this one says it all my friends. Please give this one a watch, a careful and loving viewing, multiple times, LISTEN THE HELL OUTTA THIS!

It is my first post in "Good News" and the good news in this case is that

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci STILL has value and a WHOLE LOT to tell us here in the 21st Century.

Dig, if you will...

We have viewed the first episode of this Ken Burns documentary, and plan to see part 2 tonight. What a mind, and what an artist he was! Some of the translations of "experts" who spoke on the video were a bit hard to see. Regardless, the content covers a lot of ground, and I found the details very interesting.

A few years ago we saw an exhibit of da Vinci's "machines" that were built from sketches he had made. His sketches were exhibited alongside the renderings of the inventions. He was ahead of his time, and quite a designer. I look forward to seeing Ken Burns' documentary.

How cool! I’ve heard of that exhibit, but haven’t seen it yet. I would LOVE to! Da Vinci is one of my favorite subjects in history…a fellow “polymath” albeit it on a WHOLE NUTHUH once-in-a-millennium level😎

I think it is SO cool hat Ken Burns is taking him on for his first non-U.S. subject. Can’t WAIT to see it!

Burns ❤️ Da Vinci ❤️ (Bernstein ❤️) please skip Decaprio and do Bruce. Obviously I'm not entirely opposed to Lenny's.... well, actually Basketball Diary's ..... Ken Burns.! Such a body of work, over 4 decades..... Almost as if there's "always been a Ken Burns". I don't know which of his films I saw 1st or when. (But, he really was a dead ringer for Earl Robicheaux.)

So.... Ken Burns... DaVinci.... Will air on PBS , November 18 & 19. Got it!!!

(Thank you, again Steve!)
